Obesity is a condition where a person has accumulated so much body fat that it might have a negative effect on their health. If a person's bodyweight is at least 20% higher than it should be, he or she is considered obese. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is between 25 and 29.9 you are considered overweight.

Regular eating pattern may help in protecting adolescents from obesity. This is according to a Finnish population-based study with more than 4000 participants. By eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, 2 snacks- a day,those with genetic predisposition to obesity had no higher BMI than their controls. 2. Regular physical exercises Exercises will help in burning the calories in body making the body to stay fit and healthy. Excess calories in body lead to many serious health problems. 3. Changing eating habits Consume food that are low in fat content and food intake should be based on food pyramid which consume more vegetables and fruits. 4. Self-awareness We should be aware the risk of getting obesity and what can be done to hinder it.
